Homemaking is a beautiful tradition that has been a vital part of our lives for generations. As a young Ghanaian wife, I stand at a wonderful opportunity to embrace the spirit of homemaking that my mother passed down to me. Because of rising feminism in Ghana, homemaking in Ghana is devalued and regarded as a lowly place. Historically, homemaking in Ghana has been viewed as a cornerstone of family life, where women traditionally embraced the primary responsibilities for managing the home, raising children, loving their husbands and nurturing family relationships.
This blog aims to inspire you to embrace the art of homemaking as a Ghanaian wife again and as a way to honor God while creating a loving and welcoming home for your family. It’s not just about keeping a tidy house—it’s about care of the relationships in our home and outside our homes, fostering hospitality, and making our homes places of joy and support. Join me as we explore practical tips, and stylish ideas to elevate your everyday life. Whether you're looking for homemaking hacks, fashion inspiration, or theological insights, you'll find a welcoming community here at Akua's Home. Let's bring back homemaking and Let's embark on this beautiful journey together! God Bless you.
“It is true that all men are created in the image of God, but Christians are supposed to be conscious of that fact, and being conscious of it should recognize the importance of living artistically, aesthetically, and creatively, as creative creatures of the Creator. If we have been created in the image of an Artist, then we should look for expressions of artistry, and be sensitive to beauty, responsive to what has been created for us” (p. 32).” ― Edith Schaeffer, The Hidden Art of Homemaking
I am a Homemaker, a wife and a blood bought follower of Christ. I love that quiet time spent reading the Scriptures, praying and worshiping. I am encouraged by resources based on strong teaching that are correct when viewed through the lens of The Gospel and who God claims to be (His sovereignty) within the context of The Bible. That’s why The Theology and Tea Page is here and added to my Homemaking site. This page is committed to providing you with devotionals and Bible study materials both original and curated that will help you develop in the Lord, powered by a theology that exalts Christ above everything and is true to God's sovereignty and the authority of Scripture. Also, this site contains a variety of guides for creating and sustaining a healthy home life, including cleaning and organization advice, home design, lifestyle, and more.
Bio:
I have been married to my husband for seven years now, My husband is a British Missionary, a Christian Apologist, a reformed Baptist who holds to the 1689 Baptist. We have served on the mission field for seven years. And on the field, I have been serving the Lord in a variety of ministries from helping children, especially girls, women and sharing Bible. On my Mission/Travel page i will share more of the missions I have done and also about my travelings. But in all; I am a sinner redeemed by the spotless Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the whole world. I am saved from His wrath and now on an ever-progressing, sometimes messy path of holiness. The Lord has often showed me His grace when I did not deserve it, and I am driven to share the food, refreshment, and conviction that God is providing to me via His Word and communion with Him in prayer and worship.
